Completely agree with this! I don't think I'll ever be able to give up my Expert Lists of The Best Things for Every Situations, but I recognize that it's just a starting point and I will need to tweak based on what I care about - and eventually just make my best guess and see how it goes! Also the comic is really great!
"A starting point" is a great way to frame it. I mean, we have to know what to approximately do, right? We should know what's out there. But it should only be used to dive in and get started. Unless the cost is really high (which it usually isn't) we should just begin and then be flexible to pivot in another direction as we see what works *for us personally* and what doesn't.
